M. Jessica Rowe, guest curator of world renowned sculptor Albert Paley’s Portals and Gates exhibition, will discuss the exhibition, the artistic process and Paley himself as artist at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Town/Craft Center, 1122 Willis Avenue, Perry. Rowe’s talk will be translated to Spanish by Laura Castro de Cortes, vice president and director of Latino banking at Commercial Federal Bank of Omaha.
The talk is part of a joint exhibition of 50 of Paley’s pieces on view at the Christian Petersen Art Museum and Brunnier Art Museum in Ames and Hometown Perry, Iowa. The exhibition runs through January 15.
Rowe is the principal of Rowe Consulting and works on contemporary art and exchange programs in the U.S. and abroad. She studied at Hastings College, Syracuse University, the International University of Art of Firenze, Italy, and the University of California at Berkeley. Throughout an extensive career in art museums, Rowe has held the positions of deputy director and director while working as a curator on national and international exhibitions.
