Perry Holidays


Hometown Perry, Iowa presents “Perry Holidays” at 7 p.m., Thursday, November 29 in the Town/Craft building, 2nd and Willis, Perry. Members of the community who are of Norwegian, Swedish, Scottish, and Mexican descent will share family holiday traditions from their countries of origin and how those traditions changed in the US.  Presenters include Ron and Jennifer Milne (Scotland), Beatriz Salas (Yucatan, Mexico), Dean Haaland (Norway) and Karen Taylor (Sweden). 

In addition, HPI staff will lead a discussion of Perry’s community holiday traditions and share holiday photos from the HPI collection.  Attendees are invited to share stories and photographs of their own holiday traditions past and present. The event is free and open to the public.
